This course will focus on the intersection of feminist theory and philosophy. Our goal is to study feminist theory and feminist critiques as they play a role in philosophy. We will discuss issues in feminism and their import to areas of philosophy such as social philosophy, metaphysics, theory of knowledge, and ethics. We will be focusing on 20th and 21st century theories including transnational feminist philosophy as well as Black feminist theory. Due to the nature of our subject matter, you will engage in a project as it is impossible to discuss the theory without contextualizing it in our current situations.
